Key achievements of the project

  • 63 beneficiaries women group members (5 male, 58 female) from model villages in Banke (32) and Bardiya (31) districts received training on high-value crops and mixed farming. The training enhanced their skills and knowledge in integrated pest management, compost fertilizer production techniques, and the principles and benefits of mixed farming.
  • Six farmers (three from Bardiya and three from Banke) were provided with plastic greenhouses to cultivate high-value crops during both seasonal and off-season periods. This support enabled them to increase their income through off-season vegetable production.
  • 94 individuals (male 71 and female 23) – 58 from Bardiya and 36 from Banke from two model villages participated in a dialogue on the preservation and promotion of Indigenous traditional culture. The event raised awareness about the importance and value of traditional practices, as well as participants’ rights and responsibilities. As a result, the community formed several groups focused on sanitation, plantation, fishery, and planning initiatives aimed at advancing village development.
  • 84 household members (male 32 and female 52) from Bardiya and Banke model villages received orientation on the importance of annual health checkups and gained awareness about available health services and their benefits.
  • 34 participants (30 women and 4 men from a model village in Banke received training in leaf plate production, gaining practical knowledge and skills. As a result, they have started producing leaf plates locally in group, which has helped them generate a regular source of income.
  • 31 female beneficiaries in Banke district received handicraft training, which enhanced their skills and knowledge in producing traditional items such as Delawa, Dhakiya, Bhauka, and hot cases. Among them, five beneficiaries have started production and are now earning a regular income from their work.

 Key achievements of the project

  • 60 people of two Model Villages participated in a three-day training program focused on micro-enterprises, covering areas such as livelihood development, livestock farming, retail businesses, restaurants, and fresh produce shops. The training enhanced their skills and knowledge in business planning, record keeping, budgeting, and cash flow management.
  • 30 participants from Baijanath RM-3, Govinda Tole, Banke, gained knowledge on developing business plans for pig farming, goat rearing, and tomato cultivation. Similarly, 30 participants from Barbardiya-10, Baida Dashgharwa, learned how to prepare business plans for pig farming, goat rearing, buffalo farming, Betbans products, and the cultivation of tomatoes and chilies.
  • Supported by NPR 30,000 per person from WACD, four members of two model villages have established various enterprises—a pig farm in Bardiya, and a fresh house, furniture shop, and a grocery and snack shop in Banke—significantly enhancing their earnings and economic stability.
  • To encourage healthy and active lifestyles, 60 individuals (30 from Bardiya and 30 from Banke) participated in a three-day workshop on healthy homes and healthy gardens, where they learned skills for producing various vegetables and have started producing varieties of vegetables in their home garden.
  • 60 individuals (30 from Bardiya and 30 from Banke) participated in a three-day community-based healthcare and nutrition awareness training, significantly improving women’s and girls’ access to vital information and services concerning their mental, physical, preventive, and reproductive health.

Key achievements of the project

  • Sixty group members were equipped with essential skills in financial literacy and entrepreneurship, empowering them to make informed economic decisions and explore income-generating opportunities.
  • Supported the construction of one small bridge/culvert, significantly improving year-round access to essential services and boosting connectivity for the surrounding communities.
  • The newly constructed culvert road has improved safe and reliable transportation for over 20,000 people, enhancing mobility and access to essential services.

Key achievements of the project

  • Multiple parenting education sessions on cerebral palsy were conducted to provide counseling and guidance, enabling parents to better understand the condition and care for their children appropriately.
  • Regular home visits were conducted for 60 households to monitor and update their living conditions.
  • Physiotherapy sessions were provided based on each child’s specific condition, along with the distribution of assistive devices such as specialized wheelchairs, chairs, and tables to support their mobility and daily activities.

Key achievements of the project

  • Identified 72 (12 Chisapani VDC & 60 Naubasta VDC) individuals who were directly affected by the armed conflict between 14 February 1996 and 21 November 2006 in the Naubasta and Chisapani VDCs of Banke District.
  • The project conducted awareness-raising activities on transitional justice for two groups located in Chisapani and Naubasta VDCs.
  • 72 identified individuals were recommended by the local peace committee for further processing to receive interim relief support from the Government of Nepal.

Major achievements of the project

  • To inform citizens about Nepal’s constitution and ensure proportional representation of marginalized and minority communities, particularly the disadvantaged, interaction meetings were conducted in Naubasta, Rajhena, and Kohalpur VDCs.
  • Feedback was collected and submitted for inclusion in the new constitution of Nepal. Key suggestions included: granting citizenship in the wife’s name, removing age restrictions for single women, providing citizenship to a foreign national married to a Nepali woman within two years, ensuring maternity leave before and after childbirth, guaranteeing equal education for girls and boys, and formulation a reliable agricultural policy to support and encourage farmers.

Key achievements of the project

  • 46 youths (5 males and 41 females) aged 16 to 29 were educated on the importance of preventing diseases related to stool and urine contamination, leading to improved awareness and positive attitudes toward hygiene and sanitation.
  • 54 youths (22 males and 32 females), including those affected by HIV/AIDS, from the Progressive Youth Club in Rajhena participated in an awareness session focused on HIV/AIDS prevention and the importance of condom use for safer sexual practices.
  • They were also informed about the importance of getting their blood tested for HIV/AIDS, especially upon returning from India.
  • Fifty-one youths from freed Kamaiya families, who are currently engaged in child labor, participated in a workshop on child rights and were made aware of the importance of education.
  • A group of 133 youths, acting as change makers, performed street dramas to raise public awareness about child rights, health care services, education, and the prevention of child labor.

Key achievements of the project

  • Five WACD women’s groups have been formed, and three of them are actively saving money monthly.
  • Three women’s groups have collectively saved NPR 500,000, strengthening their financial independence and promoting a culture of regular saving within the community.
  • A structured savings system has been established, with each member contributing NPR 100 monthly, fostering financial discipline and group sustainability.
